In the series finale on the Saturday night the Cherokee scored four times in the third period to seal the victory by a score of 6-4. Snyder would score an unassisted breakaway goal to give Toledo a 2-0 lead after one period. Southern Tier would score twice in the second period to tie the game at two apiece heading to the third. Kwapich would score three goals in the third period his last coming into an empty net to finish off a hat trick for the Toledo native. Gilbert would also score in the third period on a breakaway. Felser, Snyder and Blake Mullins (Oregon OH) would each finish the game with two assists. Hamilton also chipped in one assist for the Cherokee. Roman Malkov (Yaroslavl Russia) made 36 saves in goal for Toledo to earn the victory.

“We had a good third period scoring three goals right away and that was the key for us to get out of there with the two points.” Added Miller
