Felser's big night helped the Cherokee crush the Wolves 5-2

Adam Felser had a big night with 4 points (2 goals, 2 assists) as the Toledo Cherokee crushed the Lansing Wolves 5-2 in a home game at The Summit Sports & Ice Complex in Toledo. As well, Ricardo Gonzalez came up big, stopping 54 of 56 shots throughout the game. The Toledo Cherokee took the lead early in the second on a goal from Ej Gilbert.

Blake Mullins delivered for his team with 3 points (1 goal, 2 assists) and Ej Gilbert did his part, adding 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist).

In the first, Mullins opened the scoring for the Cherokee with a goal at 5:52 with helpers from Felser and Gilbert. Pipper answered for Lansing with a goal at 9:52. Snyder quickly followed with a goal at 9:58 with helpers from his teammates Felser and Mullins.

In the second period, Gilbert scored what turned out to be the game winning goal at 0:32 with assists from his linemates, Sandberg and Perry. Felser put in a goal at 7:26 with a helper from Weinrich.

During the third, Smith answered for Lansing with a goal at 11:21 with an assist from defenseman Osinski. Felser answered for Toledo with a goal at 18:35 with helpers from Mullins and Cooper.

The Cherokee’s victory was in no doubt helped out by Gonzalez’s big night as he stopped 54 of the 56 shots he faced. On the other hand, Gonzalez’s counterpart, Ignatovich, and Lansing’s defense has had better outings allowing 4 goals in 24 shots.

This win brings the Toledo Cherokee’s record to (4-1-0-0).
