TOLEDO CHEROKEE OPEN REGULAR SEASON THIS WEEKEND
(TRAVEL TO CINCINNATI FOR TWO GAME SET)
Toledo OH – The Toledo Cherokee open the NA3HL regular season this weekend when they travel to Cincinnati for two games to take on the Cincinnati Thunder.
Toledo finished third in the East division last year and will look to get off to a quick start this year. “Our guys have worked hard during training camp and we are excited to see what we can do in a game, we were unable to get an exhibition game so this will be the first action in junior hockey for a lot of our guys.” Said head coach Kenny Miller
The Cherokee have a good group of veteran players returning for the season and look to be led by team captain Tristin Snyder (Oregon OH) as well as assistant captains EJ Gilbert (Dexter MI), Adam Felser (Sylvania OH) and Blake Mullins (Oregon OH). Also returning for Toledo are third year forwards, Nick Nappi (Plant City FL) and Darryl Kuchcinski (Lambertville MI). Anthony Weinrich (Toledo OH) also returns up front for the Cherokee.
“Our veterans will have to lead the way early in the season until our younger guys get a feel for the level of play it will take to win on a consistent basis.” Said Miller
Toledo will open up with five straight games on the road before hosting Lansing on Saturday September 23rd at the Ice House on GTAHA day.
