During the first, Smith opened the scoring for Lansing with a goal at 0:46 with a helper from defenseman Redman. Smith netted a goal at 3:24 with a helper from his teammate Daum. Gilbert finally put the Cherokee on the board with a goal at 18:22 with assists from his linemates, Snyder and Weinrich.
In the third, Perry deposited a goal at 1:02 with a helper from Sandberg. Sandberg quickly followed with a goal at 1:23 with an assist from Weinrich. Ross answered for Lansing with a goal at 4:11 with helpers from his linemates, Sill and Fehlig. Smith put in what turned out to be the game winning goal at 6:31 with an assist from fellow Wolves forward Ross.
